Help with table base
I'm fairly inexperienced but muddle my way through by trial and error. I've aquired some decent jarrah planks(2700X200X40) and some 100yr old jarrah floor-boards. I wish to fashion these into a table top for an outdoor table to seat 10 people. My problem is the top will be very heavy and I don't real have the means or desire to reduce the size of the planks. I'm happy with that, but need advice on the best style of base to support the top. Is there any way of gauging the size of timber needed for legs, stretchers etc.? Is a standard 4 leg base best or some other type suitable?
