Brass hardware
Hi,
I managed to source a pair of original Beale piano sconces, which are the exact match for my WW1 era upright Beale piano. I need screws (counter sunk, dome, slot brass) and hinge pins/rods.
Can anyone suggest a supplier in Melbourne who might be able to help?
Thanks in advance,
Fletch

GB may have the screws . Your going to have to make or have made the hinge pins . Fist thing to look for if your making them is nails of the right diameter or larger .

If you look at other Sconces like that . Were any of them made so the pins were be able to be pulled out so the wax could be cleaned off them ? That looks like it could be a possibility. Not just plain standard pins but a single thing with a little turning at the top of the pin to stop it dropping through . One pin that goes through the lot .

Thanks AlexS, I’ll check GB out.
I suspect you are right auscab, it would have been a single pin through both hinge points - probably 1/4” rod, with a head at the top. May just have been peened flat at one end, or machined down to achieve this. More likely the former (production costs mattered even 100+ ago...)
