Seriously Steve welcome,
I used to be a wood machinist for ten years. Basically wood machinists are smart cabinet makers. Cabinet makers make one thing at a time, wood machinist use their brains and work out how to make hundreds
I think my max wage was around $37k per year as a level 1 tradesman and the average working week was around 45 - 48 hours at work, then another 6 hrs a week at home doing production schedules, quotes for orders etc.
Now I think of it I'm glad to be changing occupation. Teaching, 40 hrs per week starting at $45k per year with 9 weeks holidays. Man it is going to be hard (yeah I know there are kids involved but every job has its downside)Have a nice day - Cheers

Steven this is a forum for people intrested in wood working, and I would guess that most are not carpenters.
For the information you are looking for try the master builders association at this link
