Hipped roof-Scissor Bracing
Hi, Im looking to remove structural walls in my place and to do that I need to remove roof supports on top plates.
I have supports between the intermediate rafters and top plates and Im thinking of using scissor bracing so I can remove these and eventually the walls.
I dont know what timber to use and any other tips would be appreciated!!!
Anyone done this little project before???
My roof is a small (10m x 8m) hipped roof.
Cheers wood worms!

Around here you need a structural engineer's certificate to do what you describe.
The top plate could be supported on a steel beam, thus allowing you to take the wall out. then there's no need to change the roof
