Hollow log sealing
Just a quick query for anyone out there. I have a couple of hollow logs that I am converting into planters, I was wondering how I might go best about sealing the inside of the wood? The outside is fine - that's the easy part, it just getting into the guts of it...
Any ideas?Last edited by Kris.Parker1; 30th August 2004 at 03:30 PM. Reason: So the spelling Nazi's don't pick on me!

Find some suitable sized containers and insert them into the logs. Push them in far enough to ensure the tops of the containers can not be seen. If you put plants straight in the soil reaction will speed up the rotting process.

No worries. I was hoping for something to treat the wood with to avoid having to use a plastic container or similar.
Cheers
P.S. I have been told that maybe Wattyl Sanding Sealer or a poly urathane epoxy/laqer might also do the trick."Last year I said I'd fix the squeak in the cupbaord door hinge... Right now I have nearly finished remodelling the whole damn kitchen!"

The guy at the hardware shop suggested Wattyl sanding sealer should do the trick?
