Lets turn this into the "show us your saw horse thread"

    cool
I'm half way there. I've got the legs glued up, mortised and notched; the cross braces tenoned and the pieces for the top half cut. I'm going to put the bottome shelf on it, too.

Will post picture ... soon ... I hope!

Hey powellm. You can get a new keyboard for about twenty bills, and It will have a full stop key that works. I notice that you haven't used it on any of your posts so far. You must be out of breath by now.
I can lend you a few if you want. Here ya go......................................

At least your caps lock key's not stuck on. Those guys are really annoying.

This is based the design that I think Chris Swartz (sp) published in "woodworking" magzine a year or so ago... It is VERY useful, more so then my old "builders style" saw horses...

They are 20" off the ground (thats low!) but with good reason, It's very easy to hike my knee up, to hold a board down and maintain my balance (very important when sawing) When standing on it I my head is 2.3 meters off the ground which is perfect for working on a ceiling (normally 2.4). 20" height is a great height for sitting on and having lunch!

They are 7" wide (much wider than the normal 4" ) which is great because i can saw a board that is wide without out it moving and tilting all over the place.

It has a cool "V" shape cut in one end. It's for ripping as it supports the board on both sides and stops some movement.

I didn't add a shelf as Chris did in his artical in the magazine...

    Very happy with this design.

A few hours on a saturday afteroon and your done!

Hope this helps... what was the question again???

... and here they are! Its a great little gadget - very useful in the workshop!

Pic 1 - planing the leg tops flush
Pic 2 - (out of order) - in use - ripping
Pic 3 - cleaning up the bench top
    Pic 4 - ok for cross-cutting too
Pic 5 - guess I need a shave horse too!
