Default Any idea how to build this platform bed??

    Hi all

Would love help to build this platform bed. I can't find it in retail at all! If you can help (or even if you know where I can buy this in Australia) that would be much appreciated! Thank you in advance!

Some yellowtongue for the top surfaces (if it is supposed to be walk-on-able), 90x35 framing pine for the edges and a few running crosswise, staple on some padding and the covering of your choice, and you're done. Shouldn't cost more than about $150ish, not including the covering material ($40 a meter at a guess). Add the usual 'designer' markup and exclusivity, and it'd hit the designer shops for $6-10k.

Yellow tongue is strong as it is used mainly for flooring, you can get it from hardware stores. Also very heavy.

Yellow tongue - cheap, and designed to be flooring. You could go thinner with plywood (say 10-12mm), just need a few more cross-rails. (Remember to join sheets over the rails).

Feet - at the cheap end, just more 90x35, or buy some fancier feet/timber from a hardware store.

I've always had a like of cotton wadding for padding - you could possibly even pick up a cheap ($9.00) removalists blanket or two. Or get advice from an upholstery store.

If you really want to go fancy, route a 1/2 inch rounded corner on the top and side edges.
