Default Any ideas for getting mold/mildew off of veneer?

OK, I just opened a packet of curly maple veneer I have had stored in a cupboard for a year or so, to find that it has what looks like mildew spots on it! There's no mold growth or substance, just the tell tale spots of being in a dark, moist place for too long (see pic below). Since it's commercially cut veneer, it's not super-thick, so I don't want to remove too much from the surface in the way of sanding or scraping, not knowing how deeply the marks are set. Does anyone have a mix or potion to remove these marks, or is the veneer pretty much pooched?

Easy done. Use oxalic acid. Probably best and cheapest to buy it as Cabots Deck Clean or something similar.
Dilute it as per the label, wipe it on, leave it for about 10 mins (mildew spots will disappear slowly), then douse in water.

Mildew has been a big problem when veneering lately - must be the humidity ?

    cheers

A mix of clove oil and water can be pretty good for nold/mildew. Smells good too. I can't remember what proprtion to mix it up to, but there is a heap of info on the web.
The other day I described to my daughter how to find something in the garage by saying "It's right near my big saw". A few minutes later she came back to ask: "Do you mean the black one, the green one, or the blue one?".
