I'm Making The MalooF
Hi, you guys are amazing love this forum. I looked up all the Maloof joint sites and nobody wanted to spill it for the beginner. So I looked alot. I wasn't going to do the Rocker just the joint on a chair. Later on i will make the Rocker. Here's a link to my Instagram where i took most of the photos of the chair.

The seat is Oak and the feet are Mahogany, i'm making the braces for the back later and the headrest.
The problem is i made the seat out of to big of pieces and it warped on me. I chopped it in half and that did it for the time being. I found this site one day to late, but now I see what I can do And the projects are cool.

G'dy IceWorker and welcome to the shed!!Good to have you here!!
You have some fine looking timber there! I like your WIP, the photos are very clear
and show exactly what the process of the build is. Keep it coming!!!

Iceworker; Welcome to the forum.
It is strange if no one wanted to share the information as I recall when Sam Maloof in an interview he said that he did not have a problem in sharing information. Something like preventing beginners from making the same mistakes as he did.

Well maybe I was asking the people who make a professional carrier from making these chair and published books and such, so I understand their look on it. But nonetheless I got some tips from Canadianwoodworks.com on how to make the seat, and I bought the Kutzall wheel to do that.
I'm still making mistakes on this chair because i'm making it up as I go, based on photos i've seen. But I love doing it because of the woodworkers high I get when figure these things out.
Thanks for the warm welcome, will be posting my projects here in the future!!
P.s. I'm not working to promote these guys but I owe them at least this.

Great progress and thanks for the update.
Might I suggest that you try and upload the photos to the forum. Easier to see them from the forum as currently having to click on them one at a time.

That is really outstanding, especially for someone tackling the Maloof joinery by pictures and feel. Keep it up!

Awesome
Hi guys and thanx for the praise
I'm just about to finish the chair and will post some pictures straight to the this post. First picture is just before I sanded it for the lacquer finish and the second is of the first lacquer finish and I have about 3 or four left!
