Incra fence setup for Big Shed
Mate sorry I didnt get to the shed to get those snaps for you of the incra to 10HB but Ive been flat out like a lizard drinkin lately.. but I did it this arvo for you so without further ado... here you go!
1) from the front
2) left hand side with rule for distance
3) right hand side again with rule for distance
4) DO NOT forget the 7in past the end!!!
Seriously make sure that 7in is happening cause if you dont the bloody thing is over length up the right hand side and pulls everything outta kilter

Okay other side now... facing the machine rule down from left to right
I will say again dont think you dont need that 7in overhang... just do it as the instuctions state... use the phillip head screws to attach it to the table top or the bolts I cant remember which now but which ever fits a hole stick it in!!... and no I didnt have to drill any hole new or resident they line up

Thanks Ding, much appreciated!
Looks like a great setup, is it the TS-III, are you happy with this fence now? Seem to remember a post somewhere where you weren't that impressed with this whole Incra thingymejig.
Soon as I can make up my mind on which tablesaw to buy, I'll look at getting the Incra fence, might even find one on Ebay!
Thanks again, you went to a lot of trouble, it is appreciated.

Interesting.... Sir, is that a replacement for the Biesemeyer fence that normally ships with these saws (well Carbatec variety)? Mine seems OK though I see we have the same mitre gauge which I am thinking has just got to go - looking at various Incras... You got plans to replace that too?

Shed mate no problems... if you need anything else let me know... no seriously!! It gives me a diversion from all the house stuff!! gets me into the shed even if only for a few minutes ... weather missus pricing stuff docs etc etc doesnt give me a heck of a lot of time out there just now
ooooh Murray mate I gots plans to replace a lotta things!!
The fence that came with it? At the time I bought it was at a time when I had just finished a nightmare 2 year incarceration with a fence that was the absofrigginlute mongrelest thing this side of anywhere of the same style so at the time I wanted the best fence money could buy I had no idea what the table saw actually came with but there was the incra... and it was mine end of story
So I struggled with it for some time having set it up it just kept appearing to drop at the business end and I was damned if I could figure it out... so I took it off and stuck it out the way to save even more frustration than I already had and bunged the beisemeyer type one on... mmmm I thought good heft to it not the cheep ali crap that usually and did initially come with mine cause as usual the company I dealt with couldnt organize a chook raffle in a raging country pub in the middle of winter so Id been given a peice of crap and made to wait for the new one which as I said when it finally did arrive seemed really quite good nice and meaty you know?... but setting it up was worse than setting the damned incra up!!... the outfeed end persisted in twisting toward the blade no matter what I did and I did do everything I could think of and that the instructions said to do... but sure as god made little apples pull down the lever and in she would come and out of line she would be... I reckon it would be a great fence mate and would have been happy to leave the sodding thing on the t/s and save the incra for the router table build but the thing couldnt give me a straight line and keep it... and Ive found that there are few things worse than a piece of timber binding on a table saw because the stinking fence is unable to stay straight.
So I went back to the incra instructions and there it whacked me... 7in out from the left hand side!!... so I tossed the beisemeyer one to one side and got out the incra again and following the instructions set it up... damn boy yer shoulda done that in the furst place huh! Perfekshun every cut
Only "gripe" I have is the fence slot thingys for the jigs pain in the bum... well until I get some bolts and stuff of the right size it is... oh and perhaps another could maybe be that I cant make a jig to go over it for tenons and such but hey gots other dohickys to make them with so... Im a happy young chappy
I have NO IDEA WHATEVER what the mess of other tapes are on the thing initially they were confusing but then I got my eye in and it was able to focus on the centre rule and ignore the others and now Im right... but what theyre for and how you are meant to use them I have no flamin idea!... and no I didnt get the book thing that gives you all them fancy joins that its supposed to be able to do... and well... I think I got bored reading and trying to decypher manuals for machines an fences and such about then so just let it go... no use in addin stress to ones life eh?
The mitre guide is one of those things that are GOING to be replaced shortly... and yes it will be the incra fence probably the 2000 rather than the more expensive 3000.
The fence is the one prior to the present one thats being sold I think... well as can be seen it has the wheely thing for the micro adjustments which the newer model doesnt have apparently I bought it just as they were changing over and thought the wheely thing would be ideal and I was right it is

Ohhh. I see. I too would be looking sideways at a fence that crept in. Probably caused the saw to throw things at you too... nasty. That 2000 - might not be much chop. Seems it will go 45 degrees one way but not the other - you have to take it apart if you want to move it from one side to the other or to the "other" 45 degrees angle. 3000 is very sophisticated and probably overkill. I'm thinking the 1000SE might be the dogs'. I'm going to bring one back from the US next month if I can get Capex approval . Prices on Amazon are OK. Thanks for the explanation.

Claret would be nice. I'm staring at four bottles of weisse beer that were left on my desk first thing - and are still there! I'll let you know what I do re the 1000SE.

Congrats on the new toy. The other rules are for using the router, its part of the joinery system.
Regarding the miter system, I have the 3000 and I hate it. Its chronically sloppy in the slot. They have this nylon ring with a split in it and a allen head screw that you tighten to force the ring to expand. This takes up any gap in the slot (supposedly). The allen head is small, so you end up using a small allen wrench that bends if you really need to tighten it. And believe me... you will need to tighten those adjustment screws.
Then after some use, like a couple of weeks worth, the nylon ring shrinks back and you have to go back and tighten them again. Plus half the adjustments are under the body of the tool, forcing you to disassemble the thing in order to tighten them up.
I have a lot of Incra tools, but I hate their miter system.
Just an opinion for you to chew on.
Later,
Jeff G.
