Hi Tony,
Should be a simple enough fix to turn that into a great buy. The black knob has broken, just remove and it should be replaceable with a standard knob used for jigs and the like. Now proudly sponsored by Binford Tools. Be sure to check out the Binford 6100 - available now at any good tool retailer.

A nice hardwood knob would give it a bit of class.

What model is it ? It's not a V27 it's one of the dearer ones. Incredible bargain.

Don't know what the sticker says, but the pictured parts are definitely from a V120.

If Aldav is correct, and I think he is, and it is the Incra V-120 then Carbatec currently has that model on sale for $139 !

One thing I will say, in case this proves to be an option - Incra always stand behind all their products, and if you write them (email), with the photo and description of the part that is broken, they will surely be able to sell you that spare part. Given that it's small, it'll probably fit into the regular post, and wouldn't cost much to send out.
I've done this in the past with my Incra fence, and obtained some preemptive spares I felt I could do with (mainly to combine shipping with a router lift).

Punching on the screw head is not intended to accept drive from a tool like a screw or other driver. The end of the screw is split 3 ways so that the plastic knob has a decent key to the metal of the screw once the knob is moulded onto the screw body. In this case it has been effective enough to cause the knob to fracture and collapse. If the keying on the screw body was akin to a conventional screw head, slotted, Phillips, Pozi, Hex socket, or Torx, on a circular head, there is quite a chance that the plastic in the moulded knob that occupies the point where a driver would fit would shear of the knob very early in life.
I used to be an engineer, I'm not an engineer any more, but on the really good days I can remember when I was.

They sell most spares so that's an option, but it will be an expensive one. Incra's after sales support is superb.
A couple of $ will get you a standard knob.
I knew it wasn't a V27 because that's what I have. I rarely use it for "non standard" angels so the flash ones offered little advantage, however they have a longer miter bar which I would definitely find useful quite often. I overlooked that detail when I bought.I'm just a startled bunny in the headlights of life. L.J. Young.
