    Default insect in my cypress

    found this in some cypress boards that hve not been kiln dried any ideas on what it is? its head got a bit flattened by a sanding drum

    Common woodgrub, however not often seen in white cypress, must be a Queensland thing

    It is the larvae of the jewel beetle.

    My father used to mill cypress around Condobolin and jewel beetles were always a (minor) problem.
