Inspirational 90 Year old woodworker
I met an inspirational 90 year old man tonight that still works in woodwork. He lives in a retirement village and works in his single garage from his 1200x500 workbench with an old record vice. His joinery is exceptional, no gaps or sawdust filled holes. He made 4 of these grandfather clocks while in the retirement village! Everything is made mostly by hand and using a laminate nibbler, and the biggest Record #8 that I've ever seen!
He has a pile of templates for the clock which he has offered me the use of. So I think that a GF clock is on the way for our house I think.
Just a nice inspirational story.

thanks for posting this.
Excellent work turned out by him, goes to show that with mind and body at work then age is not necessarily a barrier.

Got a little while to go before I hit that age and hope to be still working with wood.

That is truly special.
By the way, Sam Maloof was 92 and still working (with a 10 year + waiting list for his rockers!) when he passed on.

Thanks for posting that John
It's tremendous that he still has the eyesight, balance and hand control to make such fabulous stuff
my prayer for everyone here is that they too have those abilities when they are 90
BTW, I think at 90 I'd limit my use of a router to a trimmer !regards from Alberta, Canada

I had a great uncle that got himself a new bicycle for himself for his 97th birthday. And he rode it everyday. No there was not a motor, just std.

My mate is now past 80 and is currently building what I think is his fourth aircraft. Scratch built from plans.
When I say aircraft I mean 'real' aircraft not models. He still has his pilots licence.
