Yes, back to Plan A (3/4 ply) it seems for the rack. The Silky Oak I think will be destined for a tool cabinet.

I would disagree with those that talk of meranti -most that I've seen Don't have that Oak like look -Meldudry? forgive spelling rays. Have dealt with much that was called Meranti and a lot that was clearly awfully close. This does have an asian look about it -if anything reminds me of some Indian stuff that I couldn't find any importer of. Furniture -yes, wood NO.
Can show pics of what MY meranti related stuff is -This includes spalted and not exactly the same species -clearly related though.
