Particularly the European movement; they stuck to more honest, simple pieces while the Americans seemed to go a bit over the top.

    I do like Stickley, though...
Must admit to liking the Duncan Fyffe stuff which seems more restrained.

Like last night watching a show On BBC Knowledge channel
    Building The Impossible

The pioneering days of aviation began in the late 18th Century, when the Montgolfier brothers developed the hot air balloon and Professor Charles made a balloon powered by gas.

When during the show there were trying to decide which way to manpower the prop's they were demonstrating the use of a treadle machine all of a sudden I realised it was possibly a Holtzalfaphel Lathe it was an Ornamental Lathe thats for sure.

    Thumbs up

I like Shaker style and this naturally leads to a liking of Krenov's work.

Arts & Crafts is fine too, however, I really do like Art Deco and and Art Nouveau.

The big prolem with so much of the styles of furniture is that you need the right abode for it. I would therefore love to live in the Chrysler building.

Some future archaeologist is going say, "They must have been big in those days, just look at the height of the ceilings".
