Irwin Quickgrip clamps
Hi
Just a heads up for those interested - the local Bunnings had two sizes of the Irwin Quickgrips at half price (note the 'had' ). Might be worth checking out the local store if you have one nearby.
Cheers
Andrew

Local tool shop bloke says its another line to bite the dust. Trojan and Craftright appear to be the reliant brands now for B.
They have already deleted Bosch jigsaw blades, which were far better quality, and cheaper, than the blades they have now! Likewise with sanding discs and belts, no more Bosch, Norton, just Trojan and at pretty much the same priceas the others. The only benefit was I was able to pick up 20 packets of Norton discs marked down to $1.50.

I got 20 of the 4-pack 125mm discs at $1 each
But yes, sad to see them changing lines to inferior ones. I wonder how much is has to do with the Masters chain and whatever agreements it has with certain brands?

Dunno about the Masters threat, if any. Whatever, stocking inferior lines, and in many cases only the one brand, will not win them anything. I've used a few Trojan things before, and like most of the type, some are not so good. I prefer the tried and tested. Don't care too much about standing by the product, too much inconvenience returning them for replacement/credit.
Fortunatelythere are still a few real independants around. Got one who sells many items in bulk, including nails, screws, nuts and bolts, hinges, catches, knobs etc.
And very competitive !!

Don't knock the Trojan brand sandpaper!!!
Every product has its niche, and picking up a few packs of that at the request of the ex (she wanted to sand some bookcases back to bare timber or something) was one of the most enjoyable retail moments of my life!!

I've had some good experiences with Trojan stuff.
Sure, there are some items that feel like rubbish but on the whole, when I'm looking for something I always pick up the Trojan offering and compare and often walk away with one.
So far, I'm quite pleased with what I've bought.Being happy doesn't mean everything is perfect. It means you've decided to see beyond the imperfections....

Not sure if this was a good deal but I picked up some 150mm C Clamps that were rather heavy duty compared to the usual junk Mitre 10 normally sells
JUST 10 BUCKS!

Our local Bunnings was clearing out their Trojan F Clamps last year when I picked up a couple. They are good value for the money and have been excellent in use for me.
I was told that they were the last of the Trojan clamps, as they were being replaced with another brand.
Curiouser and curiouser.

I've tried looking for 'parent' websites for some of the brands on stuff Bunnies is selling and keep coming up with nothing, or only references back to Bunnies.
Somehow I feel they are going the same way as Woolies and Aldi, using made up house brands to appear as if they are not a vertical monopoly. So, one brand, take it or leave it quality. For instance, the only place I know that now sells Bosch sanding disks & jigsaw blades is Sydney Tools, and they only have them on line in 100's, not 5's & 10's.

...correct me if'n I'm wrong, but I think the blue shed carries Bosch cutting gear.
