Default What I've been up to.

ATM I haven't looked back to see where I left off I think I was 1/2 way through a project since my last deposit in a thread.

I've been busy but slack from my point of view, a lot of projects for the local spinners & weavers group which Sue became a member of. From making a few drop spindles, Lucets, repairs to numerous looms, shuttles.
I did put my hand up

Oh and a number of Swifts, these for winding spun yarn hanks which then get wound into balls off the swift some 20+ of those made.

My last project for one of the ladies which has just been handed over to her yesterday I took my time with and often doing small quick stuff while pondering, stressing, awaiting equipment or materiail's to arrive. As well as resting my shoulder and trying to get over a flu/virus for 6 weeks.

It is in most part my own design (partly inspired) of a Dragon Inkle Loom. approx 650x450x45 will weave approx 2.2m

Thanks Adam. It seems to have been a hit at a gallery event this weekend when Judith took it along.

I’ve made a few body file holders in blackwood for my mates who run fab classes for car restoration.
They were for student use but I overdid it and now they are keeping them and using their originals for the students. Love your design on that loom.

Nice design Henry can understand why they are look don't use, I feel the same about mine. My 40yr old one might be cleaned up as a user.

Thanks re-loom it's drawing a lot of attention atm as it is being used at a gallery exhibition by the lady I made it for.

    Damn you, Wheelin!

I'm hoping Annette doesn't see this thread, lest my carefully hoarded camphour slab will be required to become yet another Inkle loom for her collection.

Very nicely done and I love the design. But still... damn you!

Sorting a few English pen blanks I've been lucky enough to have scored over a few yrs thanks to Fletty playing courier. A fellow woos and metal enthusiast Ian from another forum & have exchanged a number of blanks.
Below is my growing collection thus far.
Black Walnut, English Walnut, Yew, Laburnum, unkown burl, English Ash, Elm Burl, front is Lignum from a very old lawn bowl, rear is a piece of Boxwood.IMG_20190811_133008_442.jpg
