    Default Jacaranda

I received a jacaranda log a while ago from my great grandma's yard that I've cut into slabs. Any ideas for a wood that will go nicely with it? I plan on making a side table with the jacaranda slab as the top. Cheers

Gater, how dry is the Jacky? Jacky can bust moves better than a drunk at a disco.

As to a complementary timber, a light red colour, in thin sections would suit, as the Jacky is quiet pale and would be lost with a darker timber frame.

    Hi gater

I have made a platter with silky oak and jacaranda. Looked great and the eventual owner liked it too.

Whatever you do, make sure you have full breathing and eye gear; Jacaranda will do its best to kill you.

Don't park you vehicle under a Jacaranda tree when flowering. The purple flowers are a sticky mess and almost impossible to remove from a vehicle finish.

With a light white timber I like a dark contrast, in these doors I used raintree for the contrast

I used a sealer prior to the finish as the Jac took on a yellow tone (without the sealer) that to my eye detracted from the contrasting colours, so test your finish on some scrap.
