Storey that I read somewhere, long time ago;
There was a fire in a building on Chapel Street, Prahran in Victoria. The fire brigade used so much water the wooden blocks between the tracks swelled up so much the trams were unable to run the next morning.
I am unable to recall if the trams were cable or electric, or even if it was Prahran or another part of Chapel Street.

I'm from Derby in the UK and we have Jarrah wood road in the entrance to Derby Market Hall. I have photos but don't know how to post them on here

Cost as of today would hate to think as native logging of Karri and Jarra will be unavailable out side WA
