    Post Jig for bench Grinder

Hi everyone, this is my first post on here so I hope I don't do or say anything wrong!

I saw a nice tool rest for a bench grinder on U-Tube by Stumpy Nubbs - Homemade Grinder Tool Rest & Veritas Grinding Jig Review-Woodworking with Stumpy Nubs #7 - YouTube.

It consisted of a timber base frame and a Veritas Grinding Jig.
It is slightly better than the Veritas stand in that it allowed you to move the plane or chisel forward incrementally if needed.

I have done a CAD drawing and put it into a PDF format so anyone can view it.

I have included a cam arrangement that I think will simplify the various grinding angles and also allow a firmer lock as the original relied completely on a lock nut.

Any advice or comment is appreciated and I will do more with the drawings if anyone would like to use them.

    Thanks

Hi Warrangarree, and welcome to the forum.
I can't personally offer and advice on your jig but I'm sure others will be around shortly who can.
    I'll be watching with interest.

Just one point, if you're going to follow the advice on the video, I'd pay particular attention to approx 5:40 in the video.
That's a scarey way of cutting the trench on a small piece. I wouldn't recommend it.

    Cheers
    Jim
