Lookling for a trades assistant, for an antique restoration in Moorooka, Brisbane
Monday to Friday, 38 hours, full time
Junior Position (16-18yo)

Job description:
Assisting tradesmen, in Antique Restoration
Deliveries/Pickup (spare hands)
Paint Stripping
Sanding
Repairs

*warning*, you will get splinters...and on occasion, sand bits of your fingertips

Stay for the long haul, and you will learn almost everything there is in the trade -
from how to deal with the customers, paint stripping, timber selection, repairs, carving and detailing, sanding, french polishing, fit-ups, deliveries.... driving a manual van (optional)
trying to avoid an apprenticeship, would rather, fulltime employment, at fulltime wage, rather than apprentice wages (we know how hard it is to survive on $200 per week...)

Basically, Don't want a lazy kid, have some self motivation
feel free to ask questions,
willing to learn the trade
a spark for antiques, and restoration of

The blokes you'll be working with; not too serious, generally chilled out.... keep it light and happy - less stuff ups that way

The company has 4 tradesmen - Repairer, Sander, Polisher, and the Big Boss :P

Award wage for applicant, reviewed after qualifying period
Wages are paid weekly on Thursday afternoons, so in your account on Friday night / Saturday morning

Grand Piano's, Sideboards, Hallstands, Dining Tables, Chairs, Grandfather clocks, Modern Rubbish at times :P, Credenza's, Dressers, Wardrobes.... hell you name it, we do it - we do insurance work, and private work


The prick jobs - yea, there'll be a bit of sweeping and cleaning... we've all done it so don't stress :P
