    Default Joint gap filling suggestions

Hi, I have made a record shelf from vic ash and it was a long and tiresome process. Basically it consists of two rectangular boxes hand dovetailed on all corners (it's 45mm thick), the rectangles are then cross-half-checked into each other at 30degrees to make a big x shape. Stupidly I didn't think ahead and consider that the records on the lower side would be ruined from the compression so I routed a groove top and bottom and slotted in two lengths of spotted gum decking board (one for front and back) which i had laying around to divide each arm of the x into 100mm wide sections. Over time, gaps have opened up in the joins between the light and dark timber. I guess each has a different reaction to changes in moisture content. Does anyone know of a suitable product to fill the gaps and stop this from recurring next winter without noticeably standing out on either of the contrasting coloured timbers? Let me know if that's^ confusing and I will post a pic. Cheers, Brendan.

An old tradesman once told me, " All gaps should be filled with the person who made them."
But seriously, the chances of a repeat performance, a year down the track, would be highly unlikely. The unit has now had time to settle in and the moisture content in the timber would have equalized to the room. Any matching filler should be fine now.
