What is the best joint for single pane casements
Hi all, I am making some internal casements for a servery between kitchen and dining room. I'm using rosewood with a single pane of glass in each. Should I mortice and tenon them or cheat and biscuit them ? PS I'm making them myself as the cheapest quote I got was $3500

If you aren't going to mortice and tenon them a Domino or loose tenon would do if you used biscuits you might spend the next ten years feeling guilty everytime you looked at the windows for being slack.

casement widows
I made my own sash stock for external windows 800mm high and 600mm wide using doweled joints and siliconing the glass in the rebates.
It has been 2yrs and they have not moved at all.Don't force it, use a bigger hammer.
Timber is what you use. Wood is what you burn.

Whatever you do avoid the biscuits. The suggestions already made are better options.

I would use a m&t joint only because of tradition or CMT make a window sash set for making 35mm sash windows not a m&t but quite a lot of surface area for the glue to take i would either use a titebond 2 or AV515 which comes in a silicone cartridge very stong but sets quick
