Default What joints for a display box??

    Hi all,
Hoping someone with more knowledge on joint strength than me can assist - I've got lic lic.

I wish to build 10 450mm cubes out of 32mm MDF with two opposing sides open. Does that make sense? They are for display stands to use in a pool shop and will only have small and light items on them. When finished they will either be painted or covered with laminex.

Any ideas welcome and thanks in advance!!
    Cheers
    Baz

if you are going to laminate them then use 18mm mdf and screw it together with glue will be fine if painting depending on how picky you are...
you will see the joint if paint it... so you might need to mitre it biscuits and glue with mitre hope that helps 32mm is a bit of over kill in my opinion..

hope that helps and it will also cost you 3times as much and be 3 times as heavy...if you use 32mm

Thanks guys - what I needed to know.
I also thought that 32mm is over kill but it is for appearance sake not strength. What the son's franchiser wants in all the franchise's shops - you know uniform design and appearance.
