    Default joist packing

I trust all had a memorable Anzac Day.
I am building a timber deck 4mt x 4mt. All my joists have come in true but the last row is a wee bit above the bearer. What is the best material to pack up the gap?

I can't remember the name of the product I used but it comes rolled up. About 3" wide and black on top. I think it's made of bitumen or something like that.

Just wind off as much as you need, cut and staple/nail your piece to the joist. You can pack it up as much as you need and it works well.

Someone else may know the name of the product.

    Cheers,
    Af.

Yep. I use the U-shaped shims all the time; mainly for packing bearers on stumps. For smaller jobs, I simply score with a knife and snap in half.
I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.
