I found a trick that can be quite handy. It seems to work on most items
Do your searches on Amazon.com, once you've found the item you want, change the domain name to amazon.com.au on the address bar, and you will be redirected to the same item on the australian site, sometimes it's not available but most times it has an australian price on it.
    for example:
on the amazon.com : a pair of bluetooth head phone https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...CFCJIK88&psc=1
on the amazon.com.au: the same thing. https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product...CFCJIK88&psc=1

In this case, with free delivery, it's cheaper to buy it on amazon.com.au
    happy shopping.

Oft times it is best to do the research for oneself rather than rely upon the conjecture put forward by others. Thanks for posting this. Very helpful.

I recently did this for Minwax, it went from approximately 20USD to 109AUD between the two sites. I would like to hear the explanation for this difference.

    Profit maximisation

overseas eBay sellers don't call Australia "Treasure Island" for nothing.

My $500 order from Japan came today no GST was added on either end - the work around seems simple to not do buy from big ecommerce stores buy from manufacturers / smiths or small mum and pop stores.

I had to deal with Lie-Nielsen USA recently for a warranty issue and I was charged GST.

I bought a watch from Japan through a rakuten seller that arrived last week. There wasn't any GST or import duties charged $600+ item.
