    Question ladders

I have constructed a wood working shop with 11 foot ceiling. The attic was constructed in such a way to allow us to store/season wood in. the shop is 20 foot x 30 foot, the attic storeage is 12 foot x30 foot. The problem is access to the attic storage I would like to make a ladder that folds and recesses into the attic it would also need to be on an angle so that I can carry small items so a vertical ladder would not work. Anyone have any advice and or plans on how to contruct a set of folding stairs.

there are some commercialy made atic lader systems that may be worth a look . or there are some aluminium lader models that may be usefull.
most of the ladder makers have short extension laders & rigid straight ladders.
some may have just what you want straight off the shelf.
Just bear in mind the load the ladder will take. eg person plus goodies. most commercial laders are rated at 120Kg industrial at 150KG.

    Thanks Grunt and Sound Man
after putting up the post my partner and I desided to use a commercialy made attic folding stairs. We had discuss it before but could not find one the would fit , the tallest being 10'3" , so we came up with an idea to make a small platform that attached to the floor of the attic the by getting it low enough to allow us to use the commercialy made shairs.
