    Question laminating help

i am looking at building a solid timber bed, but i dont think that i will be able to get the timber for the legs in the size that i want as the timber will be from a supplier that only has smaller sizes and tends to only stock exotic timbers. I am looking at laminatine the stock timber together to form a block of about 125mm square, as of this moment i am not sure what variety of timber we will be buying. But i am not sure on the best glue to use for this project, i presume that because it is a bed it will need to be a fairly strong bonding glue. Any help on this matter will be great, as i have never laminated anything before.

    Thanks Larry1964

    Question Laminating timber

    Welcome aboard Larry.
Laminating timber as you describe is pretty straightforward.
You will need timber, glue and cramps. A good quality PVA glue will suffice.
Take two pieces and glue them together, do he same with the other two pieces. Dress each of the resultant joined pieces and then glue them together. Dress resulting solid piece to size.
You can save on expense by laminating thinner pieces to a solid core of inexpensive timber on all four sides.
Be careful with your grain matching and good luck.
