Leasing equipment?
Just did a bit of a search with not much luck...
Can you lease equipment?
For example someone might want a table saw for 6 months but not wanting to buy and keep it forever...
Any ideas

Steve, you mean renting or hiring, not leasing. Try the equipment hire places

The cost of renting a power tool for 6 months would be more than buying it outright & then selling it at the end of the job.
Cliff.
If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.

I'll hire out a table saw to you and it won't cost a cent more for six months than it would to buy, at the end of the six months I'll even let you keep it Go here to check it out: https://www.woodworkforums.com/showthread.php?t=21029
PS rental fees and transport costs all payable before delivery

Well... kind of like renting i guess.
Like a business leases a car for 12 months and then gives it back? it's cheaper than buying a car outright and you don't pay when it breaks down, it's usually replaced??? maybe
I think Cliffs idea is better. buy and use and resell a fairly new peice of equipment. the loss would equal what was to be spent on rent easy...
i was thinking more along the lines of not having enough cash up front to purchace a machine but to rent. (same as a first home owner really, not enought for a house but rent is too much to save for house etc)

Steve
There are lots of companies eg "Flexirent" that let you rent an item, then after the rental period expires give an option to buy with some credit for your rental payments.
My strong advice is that if you want it badly, just get a loan. I could bore you senseless with the interest rates, margins, depreciations etc, but bottom line is that you'll get ripped off. Just a matter of how much.
Cheapest finance = redraw on your mortgage, buy the thing then sell here or on Ebay when finished. Look out for 2nd hand units.

This porbly will not help you but there are a few places that less/rent equipment in the US of A I have found 5 and all the TS thay have are huge ones that a company might need for a one time run of a probuct. Look for a secound hand contractor saw. thay will do just about every thing you need to do and smaller.JunkBoy999
