The Great Lee Valley Clamp Order of Ought Five
How many of you 50+ clamp owners to be are slowly adding essential items to your order? Mine is sitting on $880US, and I STILL have things on the wishlist:eek:
Only live once, damn the expense! An upcoming 40th makes you think.........
BTW if you're after the LV Large shoulder plane, it's on back order till 14 Feb, so maybe ORDER NOW to meet the 18 March dateThe only way to get rid of a [Domino] temptation is to yield to it. Oscar Wilde

At the beginning of the year I mentally set a budget of $100 per month on tools and stuff for the year.
January,
Books ; Workshop/WorkBench/Toolbox books (3 in binder) $80 ish.
Clamps: Say $500
February: Vice $350
Looks like the rest of the year will be slim pickings!!
I have to order other stuff, but will freight it separately in managable bundles!
Have to congratulate LeeValley though, the service has been phenominal, and my long held beliefs about paying a little more to buy local are getting shakier. Don't blame me when there are NO suppliers left in this country!!!
Cheers,
P

.. and I thought I was spending too much with $530US.
There are lots more things I would like to buy but just can't justify. I can't even justify all the items i've purchased. At least the delivery delay allows me some time to get some current projects out of the way so that my future projects that will be needing these tools might coincide.
I think local retailers (and manufacturers) have to come to terms with the concept of world market that the internet brings.
Regards,
Mike.

Even so, as an example the veritas scraper set at $US68/$A90 would be about $A180 from Mik - 100% more. The twin screw vise carries a 66% premium if bought from them. Something smells. Take advantage of the cheap freight fellas, all for one and sod the rest!!!

I wish the deadline would pass to add to our order.
I keep adding stuff justifying it by telling myself freight will be basically free.
SWMBO is gonna clamp my whatsits for sure, at least they will be good clamps thoughBoring signature time again!

I know - Mr. Lee doesn't know what he's done.....or does he, the wee rascal. Really there was no back order from Bessey, and he's just reeling in those orders.......
