Rob,
on the Leigh website they have a technical doc that shows how to do variable pin sizing with the D1600 by using spacers against the side stops. This may work, but I am not sure how accurate this will be. Maybe someone on the forums has already done this??

New leigh jigs on the way
Hi all,
Just letting you know that Leigh are about to release 3 new super jigs - 12", 18", 24". You can pre-order from MIK International at www.mik.com.au. The new models are much cheaper - 12" is $271, 18" is $362, and the 24" is $453. Mik also have the older D1600 ($407) & D4R ($651) at the same reduced prices as carbatec www.carbatec.com.au. BTW, I am not at all affliated with either company. Just letting you guys know the good news. Check out the leigh site at www.leighjigs.com for more details on the new super jigs.

Hi,
Just to clear things up. I just called Mik International (Adelaide) and spoke to Micheal. They have 9 leigh D4R's in stock at $651 and have run out of the D1600 at $407. They are expecting more of both of these units to arrive in 2 weeks. Can't be any clearer than that! Happy dovetailing to all.

Hi All,
This might be of interest to all that are awaiting their super jigs like me. Link below

I know that many of you are anxiously waiting for us to ship your new Leigh VRS or Super jig. Originally, they were scheduled to arrive in mid- to late-July. Unfortunately, Leigh has had some delays. Here is the latest from Matt at Leigh Industries.
</http:>Dear Blair,Given that Leigh is about 2900 miles away from here, we should have our shipment around September 5th. When it arrives, we will process it as quickly as possible and ship all of our outstanding Leigh orders the same day. We apologize for the delay.
As you are all aware, and us more particularly with all the calls we get, the interest in the new Super Jigs and VRS is tremendous. Having been manufacturing for 25 years we thought we had anticipated all the delays in introducing these new products, from problems with tooling to errors in tolerances; save for one….summer shut downs. Rightly or wrongly, to this day there are many companies that still close there doors for a couple of weeks in the summer. With parts ordered long ago, and final approvals of samples done, the proverbial supplier’s voice says “we are sorry but we are closed for our summer shut down”. We all need holidays, but couldn’t they have waited until after they made and shipped our parts?
The good news is that the last items to finish these products will be in our warehouse on the 24th of August, yes this year. Therefore we will start shipping to dealers on the 27th. As we have a lot of pent up demand we hope to have all current orders out the door before month end.
Regards
Matt
end Quote.
Hope it helps.
Rgds Phil.

Phil,
with all respect to what you have written, there are people waiting for the D1600 and D4R from MIK (since the Sydney WW show) - not the new equipment that you are referring to.

I'm with 'lesmeyer' on this one.
There are those who say the D4R is in stock in Adelaide, I don't want to know if MIK sold any over the counter at the Adelaide WWW Show... and you have the answer to my question about delivery quoted above.
I've been told twice that my order is in the warehouse and just needs to be packed.
I just can't understand it.
The Sydney office of MIk claim they let Adelaide office handle the Sydney WWW show but I would pi%^$ed off if I was in any way responsible for this situation.
Could we be forgiven for not ordering the 'add ons' to the Leigh jigs from MIK?
... and you know just a phone call with an explanation could clear the whole thing up! I wish!

Gotta love the info that you find on these forums. Often toyed with the idea of a Leigh jig but the Gifkins seemed like a good deal too - and so the brain would argue with itself and settle on anything. Now I reckon I'll just hold out for the Super 18" - will do everything I want at a good price!
