G'day,
Searched here, but drew a blank.
My experience with this odd propertied timber is some 30ish yrs.
Initially for deck hand rails owing to its stability, workability & nice feel.
I used it for the structural ledging on the companionway on my boat, and for the toe rails.
Can compete with favourably with Burmese Teak in this app.

Gmelina vitiensis - which perhaps makes it a relative of Vitex?
It is quite similar in properties and appearance.

Unfortunately wasps like to "peel" the surface which is a downside. Perhap for the wax/silicon content.

I have trimmed some balcony tops with it and want to stain it to be similar to the Jarrah doors and stairs I have.
It takes the stain reasonably well but then on oiling with Organoil the stain gets removed.
I did dewax with acetone as prep.
Any suggestions?
