Lesto not Festo
Can any of you help me out on the origins of a tool with the brand name of Lesto? My research on the net has sort of led me down the road of Bosch, but it fizzles out.
I have two machines as pictured below. The first is a driver which originally was set up to drive slotted head screws, but I have modified it to insert hex head roofing screws. The second is a two speed drill.
Unfortunately the name plate is missing on one tool and obliterated on the other. I bought the driver at a clearing sale many years ago and the drill more recently on ebay just because I liked the first tool so much and I was in the market for an additional drill.
Both tools seem well made with a steel front half and run sweetly despite being old and well used. I think they may be old if for no other reason than the driver was set up for slotted screws, (it had a shroud which contained the screw head and prevented it slipping off) presumeably prior to the phillips head screw becoming commonplace.
I asked my daughter, Lisette, to take the pictures as she is the one with the digital camera so any complaints on picture quality should be addressed to her.
I am curious (about the tools - not an observation on my appearance).
Regards
Paul

Lesto was the original name for the Bosch tools. They are a well made tool and as seen by these they last a very long time.
Unfortunately you will not get spare parts for them any more, maybe brushes but most other parts are redundant.
They designed the machine then put a case around it.Jim Carroll

Paul,
Try this link. It had 5 hits when searching for "lesto". I didn't look at them but the site deals with old tools.

It would help if I included the link.

Thanks. They do have a vague Bosch look about them. Any idea when they changed their name to Bosch?
Mick
I don't wish to go into my behaviour patterns in case they place me in a poor light.

Didn't turn up anything from a quick glance, but thanks for the link.
