    Hi Stu
    Your glue joints should be flush once the glue dries.

    Just so we are on the same page; when I say flush, I'm not talking about the gap in between the boards being joined. When I say flush, I'm talking about the surface of the boards at the joint. I'm getting a good tight fit, but I'm probably about 1/32" thicker in some places. I think until I can afford a jack plane or a really high quality biscuit joiner, I'm just gonna have to live with it. Belt sanders don't cost too much...

    That's right they are talking about flush from one board to another, not the edge of the boards that are glued.

    Some different methods here that you can try. Do post on what you have decided to try.

    Edit: I said jack plane but was confused, I meant a thickness plane or as you fellas call it, a thicknesser.

    are your boards all the same thickness?
    that can be the cause of glued up boards not being flush
    or, it may be your technique with the biscuit jointer
