Take a look at my major project high school
hello everyone, this is my major project for my final year at school. it is a display cabinet that i have constructed out of Jarrah. i would just like to see what everyone else thinks of it besides my own family.
The top two pictures are of the complete finished project and the other three are of an unfinished project.
Thanks, Luke

Beautiful work Luke. I bet it weighs a bit.

Not bad at all.
Now give us a bit on how you did it. Machines or hand tools, glue ups and all the other details.
Regards
John

this was my major work for year 12 so it was done over the year. machines used for the construction were table saw, router table, dovetail jig, routers, most of the common machines. didn't really use too many hand tools, just things like chisels, mallets, Japanese saws, that's about it.
The project itself was designed in two pieces so that i always had something to do, instead of waiting around for materials. The job was starting to look like it wasn't going to be done in time for marking, but through dome long days/nights at school i ended up getting it done to a reasonably high standard. (NOT HOW I WANTED IT TO BE) but i guess that im my worst critique.
It ended up turning out really well because the people who marked it have nominated my project to be displayed at InTech 2012, which is an exhibition for all outstanding work done by that years year 12's.
