Looking for Stumps
G'day guys, Anyone have any idea where i can get my hands on a couple of logs.
I need to get my Anvil and post vice up off the ground.
Around 300-400mm in diameter and one 500mm tall and the other 900mm tall.
I've contacted all my local arborists and am not having much luck.
Any Ideas?

Hi,
Not sure whereabouts in Sydney you are but there's a lot of land clearing going on out West at the moment. Marsden Park along Richmond Road is being cleared for housing estates, the trees are just pushed over and piled up with bulldozers. Getting access to site might be an issue though, but can't hurt to ask at a site office or make a call to one of the developers (Google search Marsden Park NSW). You would need a chainsaw and transport of course though.
An old power pole might be another option if you can find one.
Cheers

Kennedy's Timbers has a Sydney branch. They also seem to have cornered the market on old power poles (well they have in Brisbane) so they could probably cut one into the lengths you require.
(No, I don't have anything to do with Kennedy's, my second post today suggesting them, but we're planning to get recycled timber there for our kitchen island).
