Bobl I am glad it was your BIL although the concept is interesting, the quality is NOT what we expect from you.

Just so's its clear I didn't make it and I admit it looks pretty poor its rocked for abIL for about 20 years.

BTW BIL is no shirk on quality.

All the switches are made in China anyway.

I found a much cheaper kill switch for my bandsaw.

in flaffing around I realised the hose that fits onto back of Kreg router fence has been stored in a very secure place that only ASIC would find, no worries says I, down to bunnies... then try 2 different farming/engineering places

aha says I Kreg should be able to supply, of course by the time I find a number in Adelaide they are closed for the day....but BINGO kreg.jpg $40.00 whats the bet no one in Adelaide stocks it and I will be in there on Monday.

Personally, the eBay paddle 'safety' switches have not been that successful for me. The Laguna tablesaw I have came with one and I killed it as a result of repeated ripping of river red gum and cypress.

Turned out that the entire motor load goes through the switch rather than a typical machine switch which uses remote contacts to carry the load...so the switch lasts forever.

In the end, my sparky had some redundant switchgear and an enclosure from another job so was able to build me a new control station for the saw in no time.

Alternatively, I note that RS Online have a couple of ABB 1TVL211000P3112 push button control stations in stock in Oz for $150 each plus delivery. The Clipsal versions can be had for around $240.

The other option is to build one yourself using an enclosure, a 240V 3kW contacter or two, a 22mm push button latching switch and a 22mm emergency stop button with a rotary reset. A place like Ocean Controls in Melbourne has all that...but is not unique in this regard.
Ours is not to reason why.....only to point and giggle.

Just out of interest, how old is this Laguna saw?

If the gear is 3P, an alternative to an expensive contactor is a VFD which enables motors to stop/start with a 10V rated switch.
