Thread: loose tenon

Hi all,

I am currently building a kitchen cabinet and cut some tenons on very long board yesterday.
Because the boards are long (2 meters), I had to use the table saw in multiple passes but somehow I stuffed up.
After a first pass, I measured the thickness of the tenon and it was 6.15mm and for an unknown reason, I interpreted it as 6.34mm or 1/4".
so I kept going until the 4 tenons were cut and tried a first dry assembly.
My mortises are 1/4". So I have a maximum of 0.5mm between the width of the mortise and the one of the tenon(my error plus some other errors along the way).I don't think it is more than that according to my first tests.
my question is : do I need to take any extra step to make sure that the mortise and tenon fit exactly (wood shim or something like that), or is it ok to stay like that and assume that with enough glue, the joint will be strong?
I don't want to redo the tenons since I don't have enough spare timber.
