Lower North shore pricing - Yikes!!
Maybe the moderators can create a new section called " Ridiculous price, who would pay?"
i saw this the other day day in a Shop window of old wares, now, please note that there is no history behind this piece of timber, it's not noted as from the original harbour bridge deck boards, it's not from supports of fort Denison, it's not a salvaged piece of timber from a barn used by the first settlers. It does not have ANY historical significance whatsoever!! The one exception is that in today's green world, recycled seems to appeal and as such seemingly attract a premium!! BS I say. it's recycled hardwood, big deal.
Before I absolutely lose it and make an a-se of myself, please tell me that there is either too much stupid money out there or this shop keeper had a puff on some whacky-tabacky that morning before putting a price on it. I think the only one dumber than this bloke would be the person who actually buys it.
im sure I could put my hands on a hundred old railway sleepers, chop them up, and walk away with $12k, yeah right. Anyway rant over, please enlighten me if I'm wrong or tell me STHU, as it's a beautiful piece and you'd like to get the address from me so you can rush down and buy it!!!

Now, noting that my English is fair to midly, i do remember an S on the end of a word generally notes plural, ie. more than one. So at this price one would assume you get 2!!??

You split it yourself to get the two ends. It would have cost more if they had done the work for you.

There will be a pair when you cut it in half and how could you balk at $120 for a hunk of fire wood, but then I ain't no trendsetter.

Its the right price to who ever buys it.
I agree with you, obtain some sound used railway sleepers and you can make a fortune. If you can not sell them at that price cut the bits smaller and sell for fire wood for top $$.

LNS crazy
Ah, yes. LNS. I lived there from 1996 to 2010. My first place in Mosman bought for 180k...left after 4 years... a friend emailed me a few months ago to say it sold for 3.2mil! Next was my 3br unit in Neutral Bay... I was in for 320 and left Sydney just after the GFC... it sold last year for 1.7!
Man, that stump doesnt surprise me in the least.
Im so glad to be out of there, though I do miss the brekkies in Balmoral...
She's gonna blow big in the next wave down. Big. Bada-boom.

The problem is the Valuer General is caught up in this wave. Wonder if they will reduce the land values if the wave decends?

Saw lots of railway sleepers today. Trouble was there were two heavy (well not that heavy only 60lb per yard) on top of each one. Plus trains going over them.
Just think of the possible dollars.

You just have to know what sells. Good luck to him.
