Default LS Barker Spindle Moulder Drive Belt

    Hi all,

Have just purchased and old LS Barker Spindle Moulder and the drive belt is in pretty poor condition. Took it to my local engineering supply place and they have never seen one like it before. Does anyone know if these belts can be purchased for these machines. The inside of the belts is concave as the drive pulleys have a convex profile. Any help in this manner would be greatly appreciated. I am in the Blue Mountains.

    Regards

    Darren

Hi Darren, These guys are the ones to talk to. They'll have something for you.

I bought one of these machines about a month ago but haven't got it home yet. It looks to be identical.

Should mention also that your concave belt probably started out flat, so a flat belt is really what you're after.

    Spindle Pulley.jpg

Hi, thanks for your response. I will give them a go. I have attached a cross section of all four pulleys and they definately have a convex face so I am guessing that the belt would have to match but then maybe not.

    Cheers

It'd most likely be a flat belt, the pulleys are crowned to keep it running in the centre. It's quite a pronounced curve, though, so I could be wrong.
Rydell sorted us out at work with a new flat belt not long ago and if they can't help you, chances are no one can.
