Lumber Bunker
I must give Steve at the Lumber Bunker in Gosford a plug. I started building an acoustic guitar about 6 months ago. I am close to completing it and Steve has been extremely helpful and very patient with my queries. Everything from help on alternative tool selection, use of workshop machinery and even private lessons on french polishing have not been a problem!
Currently he is keeping an eye out for some nicely figured wood for a back and sides for my new guitar project!

That's what we like to hear.
Luthier, that guitar is looking great can't wait to watch it fall into peices as the strings are strung . Just joking, you should post some pictures for everyone to see it coming along.
Cheers for the plug

Lumber Bunker Experience!
As I was walking to my car last night after work, a 4WD pulled up next to me, and a complete stranger leant out and asked me if I'd ever heard of a place called "The Lumber Bunker".
I didn't know whether to admit it or not (he might be from a competitor, trying to eliminate LB customers) but then I guessed he was probably trying to attend one of the classes, so I sent him on his way.
Hey Steve, what's the going rate for acts of kindness to strangers? A bonus LN plane or two?
Cheers,
Andrew

It wasn't me but .....
On sunday afternoon, the weekend before last, I had been staying aroung Mangrove Mountain with some friends. "On the way back to Camden" I told SWMBO that I was looking for "the Lumber Bunker just in case someone was there". I now know how important the A is and also that the Pacific Highway is now marked Central Coast Hwy. With the help of the guys from the local servo I did find it ... and yup, no-one was there!

Fletty, you certainly missed out on a positive woody experience . . . but you were probably lucky, as you would have walked out of there fiscally lighter

Seconded!
I'm embarrassed to say that as a life long Central Coast boy (well...almost) I only called in to The Lumber Bunker for the first time last week.
Very helpful guys. Steve showed me around the place and was very patient with my queries etc. It's great to know that there's a local agent for many of the supplies I've been ordering on line from Carba-Tec & Timbecon etc, as well as having a very interesting range of timbers, burls, slabs and blanks. Top points from me.
I think he said they'll be at the Sydney Wood Show as well.Don't Just Do It.... Do It HardenFast!!

ARose,
Thanks for that. he did mention that he stopped and asked for directions, I was wondering who it could have been, I'm not sure about a spare LN but a pen blank or two could be the order of the day
