Magnets
Hi this is my first time hope I'm doing it correctly. When making a cabinet or small cupboard I use Earth Magnets 5mm Dia x 3mm deep instead of catches. They hold well & are neat. Has anyone tried this or found another way instead of catches

Hi Greg,
Welcome! I prefer magnetic catches which are often easier to align than some mechanical catches.

Recently in some inset doors, I used rare earth magnets as latches. I put the magnets in the top of the doors and the attractor in the frame above the magnet. It was a simple quiet solution and it works well for the application. Behind the door is a computer on a slide out with a drawer over the top of the computer.
