Default Mah yankee don't do nothing nohow.

    Gidday troops.
Anybody got the good guts on how to disassemble a non-working "yankee" screwdriver? The shaft stays extended, and the rachet doesn't work nohow nowhere no-one ain't. I inherited it from the old man. The screwdriver is a Stanley, model 131B, made in Germany.
    Any advice would help. Thanks.

    luv.

My Dad has a couple of these and I cant imagine how you disassenble them but if you do I would suggest doing it inside a sealed container.
I can just imagine some tiny, critical, component flying out in the process and being lost forever

I had a Yankee screw driver that did that, the problem was that there is a small ball bearing set in the base of the handle stock which engages the spiral. I managed to pick up the right size ball bearing from a bearing supplier and fitted it in place and the screw driver now works great. At least it does not have a flat battery when you are desperate.
