Default Major Woodwork project - sideboard

    Hello everyone

I am just beginning my year 12 HSC timber course and i am going build a reproduction of Garett Hack's Huntboard for my major project. I would probably say that I am an intermediate when it comes to woodworking, so any help, tips or advice would be strongly appreciated.

In Hack's design he uses Cherry for most parts of the piece, i was thinking about replacing this with a Southern Myrtle. Would this be a good idea? Are there any other timbers that would work better? I want to create the piece with similar colours as the original.

Also i have one question regarding to prices, im a bit confused on the whole conversion thing... I have all the measurements of each individual piece in Inches, which i converted to MM. How would i go about converting this into m3 to get a price for the project?
I need as much help as i can get
    Thank you

This spreadsheet (or a modified version) might help with your pricing: https://www.woodworkforums.com/f14/co...-price-137828/
