    Default Marri/WA redgum

Can anyone tell me if Marri/WA redgum would be suitable to use outdoors? I have a large slab of it which I want to use as an outdoor kitchen with a BBQ and a sink recessed into. Any info eg stains, oil, natural etc will be helpful.

    Firstly welcome to the forum.

I am not able to help with the outdoor timber selection. As for the finish I would personally prefer one made for outdoor floor decking. If you use an oil finish this is not going to be as robust as the floor decking finish and you might need to reapply every 6 months. If you leave it natural it may fade in direct sun as most timber does.

I am sure others will be able to give better suggestion that have already build an outdoor kitchen and tell of their experiences.
