    Default Long reach clamps

With a recent project (the room divider post in pics) I had to clamp flat some particularly active boards that had cupped. But I needed some long reach clamps. Have you seen the price of long reach f-clamps! So I decided to make a pair of hand screws for the job. I have plenty of recycled spotted gum lying around and several thread making tools so this project cost only a bit of my time to make. The reach of these is 300mm. Simple as machining the jaws and drilling and tapping the holes, running some square stock through my dowel-making jig for the router table and then creating the screw. The hot tip for lubricating wooden screws is vaseline mixed with baby powder. I call them The Enforcer and The Persuader. Perfect for the job. Thanks for looking.
