    Default Mechwood A3 Edgebander help

    Hi, can any one tell me if the trimmers (top and bottom) on a Mechwood A3 edgebander should rotate in opposite directions?

    Assuming it's the same as every other edgebander around, yes they should.

    Thankyou, it seems the one I have just purchased has both trimmers running in a clockwise direction. I will need to check the cutters. Wonder if it is possible to reverse the motor? What consequence would that have for the collet come undone?

    As long as the motors are spinning the right way for the cutters that are there, it doesn't really matter which way they go in the grand scheme of things. The load is so small that the collets would never come loose anyway.

    If it's working as is, don't bother fiddling with it.

    Both cutters spin in the same direction. Check that cutters are installed the right way around.
