    Default Metal wood rivets

Our Men's Shed is trying to locate a supplier of metal wood rivets.

We wish to make a collapsible trellis wine rack, with the cross struts of the trellis to swivel around the rivets.

Do they have a special name, and where might we be able to purchase them?

I wonder if cutlers rivets, or Corby bolts might work for you?
Both available from knife making suppliers.

Or furniture connector bolts from Bunnings (probably need to be cut down to length)

Why not washers, screws, bolts and Loctite.

Have a look at sleeve nuts/bolts (also called barrel nuts/bolts and sex bolts)

I have used long shank rivets in timber and they DON'T let go, 20mm blind rivet, have used them on hinges for small tool boxes, brilliant
Use the 5mm rivets, bigger head, for your application or with a washer to suit
The person who never made a mistake never made anything

yep, what he said. Putting a washer on the back side really helps. i used to use long rivets to put put wooden decking on metal seat frames- very neat finish. do yourself a favor if you have a few to do and get an air riveter

Another user one for rivets with a backing washer, if you want a bit of movement in the joint just slip a feeler gauge between the timbers when riveting
