Metric vs Imperial Spelling - Meter or Metre
How many Ausies would now spell metre as meter, like the Yanks?
With having to provide both Imperial an Metric versions of calculators on blocklayer.com, it's a real pain trying to make sure it appears as meter on an imperial based page and metre on Metric pages.
And how do the Pomms spell it?
And then theres center and centre.

This may explain it.
To grow old is inevitable.... To grow up is optional
Confidence, the feeling you have before you fully understand the situation.
What could possibly go wrong.

I think he is referring to the Battle of the Coral Sea and he is absolutely right. They may spell some words in their own way but they are still among the best mates we have.
Slowly our kids are adopting yank pronunciations though. TV, I guess. When I was at school your forehead was pronounced forrod. And gunwhales were gunn'ls. I suppose we are all becoming victims of globalisation.
