Default I need some one who can Mortise large Iron Bark Posts for rails in Melbourne

    Hi All,

I thought this would be a great place to start and hopefully someone can suggest a place to have iron bark posts morticed for rails. Posts are approx 300mm x 300mm.
I need 3 posts machined for rails. I don't want to have to buy a chain mortiser.

Can any one help. Must be in Victoria or better Melbourne.

Possibly of no use as an answer but the traditional tool for this is something called a Twibil.

Difficult to explain so I suggest a search. No idea about Aus, but I know I can still buy them in the UK.

Isn't the traditional tool here called the chainsaw?
Most fencers have the skills to do that. Try a few calls to contractors in your local area perhaps?

Yair, what Elver said. I let my neighbour run his cattle on my block. A fence to keep them away from house/shed area was built. He was an absolute artist with a chainsaw and fast. As casual as rolling a smoke.
    Cheers, Bill
